40年に渡り写真を撮り続けた4姉妹

写真家であり、マサチューセッツ芸術大学教授のニコラス・ニクソン氏が妻のベベさんと3人の妹の写真を初めて撮影したのは、1975年でした。

その翌年から、記憶に残るような思い出を作ろうと、毎年写真を撮ることにしました。そして4姉妹のうち誰がどこに住んでいても、欠かさず写真を撮り続けました。最初の写真を撮影したのは、長女ベベさんが25歳、末の妹ミミさんが15歳の時で、ベベさんが65歳、ミミさんが55歳になるまでこの写真撮影は続きました。

ローリーさん、ヘザーさん、ベベさん、そしてミミさんの4姉妹全員が同じポーズで並び、ニクソン氏が撮影をしました。

その後、ニクソン氏は40年に渡るこのプロジェクトを「ブラウン姉妹」と名付け、2011年に世界中に公開しました。40年の長期に渡って撮影された写真は、時の流れとともに移り変わるブラウン4姉妹を記録したものです。
